So it is true, people do dress very well in Paris. And not only that, they are daring, but because everyone else around them is daring in the same way, it’s the norm here.
I wish I could’ve brought my wardrobe with me, and worn all the things I was too scared to wear in Vancouver because I totally would’ve fit in here - not implying that I dress ‘very well’, but just that I have outfits I could pull of here. Okay, maybe I wasn’t scared but I already have a bit of a weird style, and making it weirder by Paris-izing it doesn’t really go well because most people don’t dress up that way in Vancouver.
I have seen one American wearing sweats here, and he looked quite out of place. Lulu’s don’t exist. All the men wear amazing pants (and I NEVER notice pants), beautiful sweaters, and amazing shoes. Not to mention bags. Everyone has some sort of stylish bag - no backpacks.
And really, every single odd jacket I’ve ever liked but never bought because it was ‘weird’, even by my odd standards is what I see on the streets. I want to take photos of everyone for inspiration and get all of their jackets just to build my own odd jacket collection.
And girls carry make-up pouches and do touch ups in the washrooms. I look like a slob 24/7. The men have amazing hair. At Sciences Po, male students even wear suits to school. You cannot wear canvas shoes to school here. Maybe in the summer? I’m not sure. But proper shoes are a necessity. I need to go shopping.
